Why Boiler Servicing Is Important for Homes in Basingstoke

At DSG Services, we service natural gas and LPG boilers in Basingstoke and the surrounding area. Allow 1–2 hours for a standard annual service, with a service record provided afterwards.

A service gives us time to check safe operation and look for worn parts or faults. It is also your chance to mention changes in the heating or hot water before they get overlooked.

What our boiler service includes

The work follows the boiler manufacturer’s instructions and depends on the appliance and its condition. Our service checks include:

• Condensate trap cleaning, where applicable.

• Magnetic filter cleaning, where fitted.

• Flue effectiveness and air supply checks.

• Operating pressure or heat input checks.

• Checks that the boiler operates safely.

You receive a service record when the work is complete. Keep it with your boiler paperwork.

How much does a service cost?

Our standard annual boiler service is £120 for natural gas or LPG boilers, including travel within our service area and VAT where applicable. A full strip-down service costs £250 plus service parts.

Service kits and faulty or worn parts may cost extra. Tell us the boiler make, model and service history when booking so we can discuss the type of service it needs. Follow the manufacturer’s servicing requirements; the interval for a strip-down can vary by boiler.

Cold radiators may need a separate investigation

A boiler service and a heating-system flush are different jobs. On a full-day flush at a Basingstoke home, we photographed the debris on the MagnaClean filter after flushing just three of the property’s nine radiators. Cold radiators had prompted that visit.

Before we arrive

• Leave clear access around the boiler.

• Have its make, model and previous service record available if you can.

• Note any error codes, pressure changes, noises or heating problems.
